*UPDATE* The letter below was written before Taylor's climb. As of today, July 15th, Taylor is back home safe and sound! He made it to the top of Mt. Shasta! He has expressed that this trek was the hardest thing he has ever done-in more ways than one.

Taylor is climbing over 14,000 feet to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis!

On July 12,13 Taylor is climbing Mt. Shasta in Northern California. This ambitous mountaineering feat will provide much needed funds for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) research. Taylor along with his dad and big brother are asking for your help in their Great Climb.

Taylor has learned to live life to the fullest in spite of his CF. He has been challenged daily in countless ways to manage this devastating illness. The last two years have been especially challenging in dealing with a resistant lung infection and two hospitalizations. Taylor’s young adulthood increases the complexities since CF is a progressive disease. His reduced lung capacity presents a significant challenge in climbing in high elevations. He is determined to reach the summit…as much as he’s determined to live above his disease.

Cystic Fibrosis is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF.
