2009 WORKSHOPS
- Saturday, September 12th -
1. Aziza Nawal: New Combinations for Middle Eastern Rhythms • 11 AM to 1PM Fresh new combinations perfectly paired with middle eastern rhythms that are great for incorporating into your improvised or choreographed routine.
2. Zhaleh Fereshteh: Shimmy technique & Samiha Combos • 2 PM to 4PM Samiha combos created from an Egyptian style movement & Shimmy technique from the 'Diva of Shimmies' .
- Sunday, September 13th -
3. Natalie Brown: Slow Work and Extension • 12:30PM – 2:30PM Known for her down-tempo grace, beautiful lines and lengthy extension. An in-depth look at slow technique and the physics and anatomy of being graceful, applicable to any style dance.
4. Eric N. Peterson: Drum and Zil workshop for drummers and dancers • 4PM – 6PM Learn the format and techniques for constructing interaction between the dancer's zils and drummer's rhythms and solos. Please bring drum or zils. Students of all levels welcome.
