Thank you to everyone who has participated with our family to help raise awareness and money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Every year, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation coordinates Great Strides. GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, I'm walking in the GREAT STRIDES walk at the 2009 Georgia Tech Pi Mile. Please help me meet my fund-raising goal of $10,000.00 by sponsoring our team. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as more than $.90 out of every dollar you contribute will be used to fund the vital programs of the CF Foundation. We would love to have you join us in the effort to make “Great Strides” toward finding a cure for CF.

Our daughter, Elena, is now almost 5. She is successfully battling her cystic fibrosis. She has successfully avoided any hospitalizations this year. She has intestinal difficulties that lead to weight loss and nausea twice a month. Her most difficult hurdle is weight gain. However, she continues to grow and love life. Her eyelashes do weigh at least a pound each, so that should make up for some weight loss!

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. We would greatly appreciate ANYWAY you can help us this year. Please consider joining Elena and her friends and family for the three-mile fundraising walk on Saturday May 16th, 2009. We will meet at 8:15am to check in, hand out our team t-shirts, take a team picture, and say a team prayer. There will be food following the walk.

Also, please consider joining our letter writing campaign by simply mailing or e-mailing a note to your friends and family with this web address on it. Encourage your friends and family to send their own campaign letters around for Elena’s Team. Imagine how much money and participation we could gather this year. GO TEAM!
