SHEA's GUARDIAN ANGELS
GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, my family will be walking in the GREAT STRIDES walk at Lido Beach on Saturday, May 16th and Hofstra University on Saturday, May 30th.
As many of you know, my beautiful 11 year old granddaughter, Shea Patricia McClosky, has Cystic Fibrosis. She is growing and strong due to the wonderful treatment she receives from her CF specialist. The advancement in the treatments for CF would not be possible without the funds raised by events like Great Strides. An example is a research study that Shea is currently participating in to determine if LYM-X-SORB, a new type of dietary supplement, is an acceptable and effective way to correct fat and choline (a fat-related nutrient) absorbtion in children with Cystic Fibrosis and pancreatic insufficiency. She will take the LYM-X-SORB supplement every day over an 18 month period, and travel to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia several times to be tested. This photo is Shea and Megan, her nurse for her baseline visit to CHoP.
Please help me meet my fund-raising goal of $4,000 by sponsoring me. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education.
Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click the "Click to Donate" button on this page to go to make a donation that will be credited to my team. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated!
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later.
Thank you,
Sharyn McClosky and Family
