****LAST CHANCE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR LIL' CHRIS!! HURRY!!**** Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, I walked in the Great Strides walk at the 2009 Wooster, Ohio walk on Saturday, June 13th at 9:00am to help find a CURE for my son, Lil' Chris. (The top of this site says Cleveland Walk, but that is only because this is our first year walking in Wooster so we will not be in the system until next year. All donations will go towards our Wooster walk though.) Please help me meet my fund-raising goal of $5,000.00 by sponsoring me. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education. We have until the end of August to collect any donations, so it is not too late to donate. Every dollar counts! If everyone donates $5 or $10 then I will meet my goal:) We are getting closer and closer to a CURE with every dollar!! YOU CAN HELP MY SON LIVE LONGER!!! PLEASE DONATE TODAY!! Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click the "Click to Donate" button on this page to go to make a donation that will be credited to my team. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated! Every dollar can make a difference! Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is an inherited fatal disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 people in the US and 70,000 worldwide. They produce unusual thick sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections. That mucus also obstructs the pancreas and stops natual enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food. Lil' Chris has to go through daily Physical Therapy(Vest treatments, see pic above) to help break down that musus and must take numerous pills just so his body can absorb the food that he eats. It is a daily struggle to keep his weight above the 50th percentile. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit www.cff.org. In the 1950's, few children with Cystic Fibrosis lived to attend elementary shool. Today, because of CF Moms like myself asking for donations, and because of people like you donating, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30's and beyond. But this is not always the case...on March 13th 2009, baby Ethan, a CF buddy of Lil' Chris', passed away at just 7 months of age. Please donate today so this never happens to our precious Lil' Chris or anymore of his lil' CF buddies!!! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and Great Strides! For updates on Lil' Chris, visit www.acure4lilchris.com. Thank you in advance for your support, it means the world to us.
