As I am sure you know by now GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. When our youngest son Shad was diagnosed with CF in January of 2004 it was a shock for our family and friends. When disappointment gave way to hope we formed "Team Shad". Team Shad has been composed of family and friends of Shad who have participated in a variety of fundraising activities. Some of those activities have included fundraising walks at Dallastown High School, Hop -A-Thon's at our son's elementary school and our "Score Fore A Cure" Golf Tournament. Since Shad's diagnosis, Team Shad has raised approximately $150,000.00 for CF research. We believe that we will go over the $200,000.00 mark this year. Again this year, our family and friends are walking in the GREAT STRIDES walk at the 2008 York - Indian Rock Elementary School walk on 05/17/2008. We will also be walking in a Great Strides event at Dallastown Area High School on May 24. Please help us meet or fund-raising goal by sponsoring Team Shad. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as more than $.90 out of every dollar you contribute will be used to fund the vital programs of the CF Foundation. Our family recently received information frm the CF Foundation indicating that the mediam age for CF patients is now over 35 years of age. This is fantastic news and evidence that the money raised is being put to use. As I am sure you would agree however, this is not enough. We want to make CF stand for "Cure Found".
