It has been over a year since our son, Luke , was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. The last year has been a struggle for us with frequent hospitalizations, doctor visits, blood draws, and pulmonary function tests. Through all of this though Luke has fought hard and become stronger with every problem.
It is so difficult to see Luke going through this but we know that we are lucky to be living in this time and age. When the CFF was founded in 1955 few children were expected to live until elementary school. Thanks to the donations of people just like you Luke now has a life expectancy of 37.6 yrs old.
Unfortunately, because CF is not very prominent in the US, pharmaceutical companies don't fund research. All research is a direct result of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation making it possible. In fact, right now they are working on a drug that may be a cure! The money for this life-sustaining cure has been raised exclusively from donations!. Please help the CFF continue to fund the research for all the trials that are necessary for this drug. We would love to see a cure in Luke's lifetime.
GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, I'm walking in the GREAT STRIDES walk at the Schaumburg Busse Woods walk on May 16th. Please help me meet my fund-raising goal of $1000 by sponsoring me. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education.
Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click the "Click to Donate" button on this page (cff.org/great_strides/courtnieallen6137) to go to make a donation that will be credited to my team. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated!
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and GREAT STRIDES!
