GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This coming up year, I'm walking in the GREAT STRIDES walk at the 2010 Orlando -University of Central Florida (GO KNIGHTS) walk on APRIL 11, 2010. Please donate if you can!!
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects over 30,000 children and young adults in the United States, including myself. I am 26 years old and fortunately I have been blessed with good health, having had a liver and pancreas transplant in 1997. Over the last two years I've run into some health issues, being hospitalized twice--but always keeping a positive attitude. I was diagnosed with CF when I was 18-months old and at that time CF patients were not expected to live past the age of five. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made a huge difference in extending the quality of life for all of us with this disease. Today, more than 40 percent of the CF patient population is over the age of 18. Your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. I take comfort in knowing that I will live a long and healthy life due to the generosity of people like you.
Thank you to all the people who helped make my 2007 Orlando - Blue Jacket Park and Jacksonville Beach walk successful, my 2008 UCF & Houston Texas Walk equally as amazing and my 2009 UCF walk perfect! With the generosity of people like you, I'll hopefully have a long, healthy and happy life!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click the "Click to Donate" button on this page to go to make a donation that will be credited to my team. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated and remember that every penny counts when it comes to saving lives! I would LOVE if you could make it out to walk. For my local friends, you have NO excuse :)
Thank you for doing your part to make CF stand for CURE FOUND!
