GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, I'm walking in the GREAT STRIDES walk at the 2009 Elizabeth City - Charles Creek Park walk on 09/26/2009. Please help me meet my personal fund-raising goal of $5,000.00 by sponsoring me, and helping my team meet our team goal of $15,000. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education.
Reilly faces a lifetime of treatments, exams, x-rays, CT scans, surgeries, and endless doctor visits. She may one day need a double lung transplant to help her breathe freely. This year Reilly had her first surgery. Although it was a standard procedure (tonsils & adenoids removed), she is high risk because she has Cystic Fibrosis.
Currently, her day involves several different types of medications, and treatments that must be done 2-3 times per day. She must take a pill each and every time she eats or drinks anything. Our day revolves around how to fit in treatments and medications. You can help find a cure, so that Reilly can have a normal childhood. Please take a few minutes of your time to experience one day of Reilly's life by viewing the following video.
Last year was Elizabeth City's first Great Strides walk. With help from generous people like yourself, we were able to raise over $34,000. Our goal was $25,000, so we exceeded our goal by nearly $10,000!

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit www.cff.org.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and GREAT STRIDES!
