Lainey Smithson and Lanie Tench are two beautiful girls that both have the same name, both have an older brother(s), both have a loving family, both live in the same town, and both girls had similar, yet devestaing news that was found through the required newborn screening.....they are both fighting Cystic Fibrosis! The girls are 9 months apart with Lainey being born on May 20, 2008 and Lanie being born on February 18, 2009. Currently both girls take digestive enzymes due to the toll Cystic Fibrosis plays on the functioning of their pancreas. They also take special vitiamins, medication for acid reflux, and undergo chest physiotherapy twice a day for 30 minutes at a time.
We are so proud of our little fighters! We want them to have the opportunity to live a full and healthy life. Our dream is to have CF stand for Cure Found. In order for our dream to come true in our girls' lifetime, we depend on ther generous donations of our friends and family!
PLEASE, PLEASE. PLEASE join our team and help us to raise money to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis!!!
GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, our families are walking in honor of Lainey Smithson and Lanie Tench in the GREAT STRIDES walk at the 2009 Northeast Georgia - State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens, GA walk on 10/17/2009. Please help us meet our fund-raising goal of $1,500.00 by sponsoring us. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education.
Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click the "Click to Donate" button on this page to go to make a donation that will be credited to our team. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated!
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit www.cff.org.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and GREAT STRIDES!
