Presented by Janine Ullyette & Friends to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Tuesday, June 15th, 2010 - 8:00 PM
Saint Peter’s Church, NYC - 619 Lexington Avenue at 54th Street - (212) 935-2200
Suggested Minimum Donation: $20
Janine and two of her sisters were born with cystic fibrosis. In 1996, Sally, the middle of the three sisters, underwent surgery for a double-lung transplant. Unfortunately, due to complications with the transplant, Sally passed away. She was 42 years old.
“An Evening of Music” was created to honor the lives of those affected by cystic fibrosis and to memorialize the lives of those who were lost. We ask that you join us to raise money and awareness in hopes of one day putting an end to CF.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that causes the body to produce an abnormally thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and pancreas creating difficulties with breathing and digestion. More than 10 million Americans are unknowing, symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. In 1955 when the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was formed, children with CF were not expected to live to attend elementary school. Today, we are able to say that the median age of survival is more than 37 years and that more than 45% of those who battle this disease are now adults.
If you are unable to attend the event but would like to make a contribution, please send checks made payable to CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION, 205 East 42nd Street, Suite 1821, New York, NY 10017 Attn. Shari Edelstein. In the memo section, please write: Janine Ullyette. To make a secure donation online via credit card, please click on the "Click To Donate" button below.
