Team Sydney is gearing up for our 5th annual Great Strides fundraising campaign to raise money for better treatments and a CURE for people with Cystic Fibrosis (CF)! We can hardly believe that it has almost been 5 years since Sydney was diagnosed with CF and are happy to report that for the most part, Sydney has done very well “CF-Wise” over the past few years. Her lung function is in an above normal range and her x-rays haven’t shown any lung damage and for that we are very thankful. Keeping Sydney healthy does require a great deal of time and effort. To keep healthy, she does at least 30 minutes of Chest Physio-therapy with her VEST daily, takes a nebulized medication called Pulmozyme daily to help thin the mucus in her lungs and sinuses, does sinus rinses twice each day to avoid congestion and infection, takes enzymes for digestion each time she eats and takes many daily vitamin and mineral supplements to keep her body healthy and strong. Many of these things increase when she has a cold or illness.

GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, I'm walking for Sydney in the GREAT STRIDES walk at the 2010 Fort Wayne - Fort Wayne Tin Caps Stadium walk on 05/15/2010. Please help me meet my fund-raising goal of $3,000.00 by sponsoring me.
