Dear Friends and Family: it's that time of year again!!! This year we have an extra special big reason to ask for donations - a new drug that actually repairs the proteins in the defective gene which causes some types of CF is in the final stages of being released. This drug can't help Hayden's "brand" of CF, but it opens the doors to a drug for his type. The money raised from Great Strides goes to help fund the research for this new drug that can alleviate Hayden's CF symptoms! We are so close to the cure, It is unbelievable! I will be walking on May 21, 2011 in Grand Rapids. I would like our team to raise $2,000.00 this year. Where does the money go? 90 cents of every dollar goes to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation funds for research and programs to help find a cure for CF. When the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was started nearly 5 decades ago, children with CF were not expected to see their first day of Kindergarten.
