The 2011 nationally ranked Cortland women’s lacrosse team will not only be playing for themselves, their university and their community, they will be playing for Zoe and Cole – helping to make Great Strides against Cystic Fibrosis. Zoe and Cole are cousins of teammate and junior captain Lindsay Abbott and honorary members of the team.
Zoe, age 13 and Cole age 10 are a sister and brother, who are just like other kids their ages. However, they are afflicted with CF and have battled this disease their entire lives. In order to keep as healthy as possible, Zoe and Cole: take several pills each time they eat to aid in digestion, sit for twenty minutes twice a day doing their vest (airway clearance system) and take medicines through a nebulizer. When these treatments are not enough, Zoe and Cole must be hospitalized where they receive intravenous antibiotics and other intensive CF treatments. The Cortland Lady Red Dragons are raising awareness and money this season for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The CF Foundation receives no-federal funding and depends on the generosity of individual donors and corporations to support its lifesaving mission. Your donation will go directly to the CF Foundation, one of the most effective and efficient organizations of its kind.
Please help the Lady Red Dragons as they take Great Strides this season in support of Zoe and Cole.
The players and staff are grateful for your support so that soon CF can stand for Cure Found. Thank you and go Red Dragons!
