In 2007, eight seventh graders began a mission to educate the public and find a cure for cystic fibrosis in honor of their friend Alyssa. Since then, the Alyssa's Angels has grown to be the largest CF fundraiser in Northwest Indiana and a beacon of hope for those who suffer from this disease.

Over the past year, our friend Alyssa did something doctors did not think possible. She made it to her 18th birthday this last December 24th thanks to a lifesaving and life changing double lung transplant. She is now using this new gift of life to spread the word about CF, to continue to work to get her GED, and to start her own baking business. Now we are getting back to helping all the others who suffer from CF.

This year, the Alyssa's Angels (myself included) will be walking in the Great Strides for CF event at the Lake County Fairgrounds this Sunday, May 20, 2012. Please help me meet my fundraising goal of $500 by sponsoring me.
