Having CF, organizing the GREAT STRIDES walk, here in my hometown of Rock Hill, had long been a goal of mine. On 10/28/06, with less than 3 months planning, no budget, and no media, my wish came true! We held the first ever Great Strides walk in this part of SC. Over 75 people registered to walk and we had 40 volunteers. In all, we raised nearly $6,500!! I celebrated my 33rd birthday the following week. What better way to mark such a milestone with my family and friends around me. (In April 2007, I was recognized by USA Weekend Magazine and the Make a Difference Day Foundation for the Rock Hill CF Walk--that was very cool!!) In September 2007, we held the 2nd Annual Walk, this time raising over $10,000!! And we're at it again! If you would like to learn more about me or see a slideshow from last year's walk, please visit www.marksmanweb.com/65roses Hope to see you there, and at our lead-in event in May '08: the 2nd Annual Sink One for CF Charity Disc Golf Tournament presented by INNOVA Disc Golf.
GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, I'm walking in the GREAT STRIDES walk at Cherry Park on 9/20/08. Please help me meet my personal fund-raising goal of $1000.00 by sponsoring me. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as more than $.90 out of every dollar you contribute will be used to fund the vital programs of the CF Foundation.
Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click the "Click to Donate" button on this page to go to make a donation that will be credited to my team. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated!
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit www.cff.org.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and GREAT STRIDES!
