Why We Stride

GREAT STRIDES: Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest national fundraising event. Tens of thousands of co-workers, friends and family come together each year as one community for one cause…to help find a cure for CF. In 2009, nearly $35 million was raised to support vital CF programs. Learn more.

Registering online for GREAT STRIDES is easy and fast! Start by choosing a walk site near you. There are more than 570 sites across the country to choose from!

Hero Story - Sofia
Pre-natal screening showed that Maryann and Nate's soon-to-be-born daughter had cystic fibrosis. They immediately formed the walk team "Strides for Sofia." Using the GREAT STRIDES Web site to do an online letter-writing campaign, they designed their homepage with a photo of Sofia's sonogram and began asking for contributions. They also engaged family and friends in fund-raising activities like a garage sale and salon party.
