Clinical Research Awards

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutics, Inc. (CFFT), the nonprofit drug discovery and development affiliate of the CF Foundation, offers competitive awards to support clinical research projects directly related to CF treatment and care.

Projects may address diagnostic or therapeutic methods related to CF or the pathophysiology of CF, and applicants must demonstrate access to a sufficient number of CF patients from CF Foundation-accredited care centers and to appropriate controls.

Up to $100,000 per year (plus 8% indirects) for a maximum of three years may be requested for single-center clinical research grants. For multi-center clinical research, the potential award is up to $225,000 per year (plus 8% indirects) for a maximum of three years.

For trials exceeding these limitations, please contact Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutics before submission. Please review the Policies and Guidelines for complete submission information.

Applications will be accepted only after submission and approval of a letter of intent. CFFT strictly adheres to the letter of intent and award application deadlines.

Deadlines

  • Fall Letter of Intent Deadline: June 1
  • Fall Application Deadline: First Wednesday of September
  • Spring Letter of Intent Deadline: December 1
  • Spring Application Deadline: First Wednesday of March

Submissions

Letters of intent (LOI) should be submitted via e-mail to the Grants and Contracts Office no later than 5:00 pm (EDT) on the aforementioned deadline.

Applications must be submitted electronically at Proposal Central by 5:00 pm (EDT) on the aforementioned deadline.
