Spoken word poetry means the world to me. It gives me an outlet to express the most inner and vulnerable side of myself. With that being said, “Monster” is a poem about my journey with CF, from how it made me feel worthless to how I learned to embrace it.
Although my journey with cystic fibrosis has been difficult, over time, I have learned to embrace it. In my poem “Monster,” I address this head on and describe my own process of coming to terms with my disease.
