Everyone is welcome to attend a reception hosted by members of the Cystic Fibrosis Learning Network (CFLN) on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Omni Nashville from 7-10 p.m. Programs participating in the CFLN will be displaying posters about the innovations they are testing so that other programs in the CF care center network can come learn more.
The CFLN is organized to implement evidence-based guidelines and best practices and to test innovations that will result in improvement in key clinical and patient-reported outcomes. As a network of individuals with CF, family caregivers, clinicians, and researchers, the CFLN believes that together they can build a learning health system in which people with CF:
- Have health-related quality of life no different from the general population
- Achieve their personal goals
- Are able to lead full, productive lives
The CFLN builds upon the CF Foundation's Learning and Leadership Collaboratives, peer review accreditation system, patient registry, clinical practice guidelines and clinical research. The CF Foundation and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center provide stewardship and operational support to the network.
The core features of an effective learning network are common purpose, cooperative structure, critical mass, collective intelligence, and community building. These features give a network energy and momentum and their combined effects enable quality improvement, learning, and change to happen. To learn more contact ksabadosa@cff.org.
