In 2018, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Compass case managers helped more than 600 people with CF and their families review, compare, and select insurance plans that best met their unique needs.
This year, Compass has added new resources to help you and your patients during open enrollment.
Navigating CF: Choosing an Insurance Plan is the first part of a new interactive series that uses the knowledge and expertise of Compass case managers to guide people with cystic fibrosis, their families, and caregivers through topics
specific to life with CF.
The program covers:
- What to consider before choosing a health insurance plan
- Insurance issues unique to cystic fibrosis
- Health insurance options and eligibility requirements
- The insurance comparison and selection process
New information is also available on cff.org, including:
- Open enrollment deadlines (including Medicare and the Marketplace)
- Factors to consider when choosing a plan
- A plan comparison chart that people can complete on their own
Compass case managers will continue to be available to help you and your patients through open enrollment. We recommend contacting a case manager as soon as possible, as it can take one to two weeks to fully research options during this busy
time. Cases are worked according to their deadlines to ensure we can help as many people as possible.
