Learning and Leadership Collaborative: 24 Teams Actively Engaged
Led by the Dartmouth Clinical Microsystems Academy, 12 teams in the
Fundamentals Learning and Leadership Collaborative (FUN LLC2) will convene in February 2017 for a face-to-face meeting in Washington, D.C. These teams will be supported by quality improvement (QI) coaches who will help facilitate sessions for the development of leadership skills for program directors and coordinators, relationship-building communication skills, data reporting and measurement skills, and ways to work with patients and parents as partners in improvement.
Teams will also be invited to download and test a new Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) mobile app during the meeting. A benchmarking site visit to Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago/Northwestern is planned for the FUN LLC2 teams in June.
Twelve additional teams in the Virtual Improvement Program Fundamentals asynchronous QI course (VIP-F2), also led by the Dartmouth Clinical Microsystems Academy, continue to meet with faculty and coaches to focus on nutrition and pulmonary care process improvement.
Both the FUN LLC2 and the VIP-F2 will culminate at the
North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC) in October.

Pilot Learning Network: Inaugural Community Conference
The
Pilot Learning Network (PLN) is underway with 14 programs attending the first Community Conference in Bethesda, Md., in October 2016. The conference enabled PLN participants to get to know one another; offered skill-building sessions for conducting tests of change, communication and transparency among team members; and enabled teams to create their first Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles to test timely registry data collection, pre-visit planning processes and readiness for co-production with patients and families.
The Community Conference also provided an opportunity to launch a new communication and engagement platform, the CF Exchange, which teams will use to share ideas, tools, processes, stories and lessons learned.
Teams continue to meet virtually on a monthly basis and will convene for a second Community Conference in Bethesda in March. For more information, contact
