Xan is an assistant professor at Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine. They also serve as vice chair for the FSU COM Council on Diversity and Inclusion. Dr. Nowakowski is a medical sociologist, public health program evaluator, and community advocate focused on health equity in aging with chronic disease. They regularly facilitate sessions for CF-focused scientific and community conferences, provide clinical education for CF care providers, and serve on the board of directors for the U.S. Adult Cystic Fibrosis Association. Dr. Nowakowski holds a master's degree and a doctorate in Medical Sociology from FSU, a master's degree in Health Systems and Policy from Rutgers University, and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Columbia University.

Xan Nowakowski Thumbs Up Watching NACFC

I was pleased to see that the third plenary session at the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference included patient stories that reflected the diverse experiences of those with cystic fibrosis. I also like that it focused on the need for bold action to help those who can't benefit from modulators and centered on the full ecology of treatment innovations that can benefit every person with CF.
