Premium subsidies are tax credits that help with the cost of a health plan, making it more affordable for middle and low-income individuals.

Health insurance is a necessity for people with cystic fibrosis, and without premium subsidies, insurance offered through exchanges could become unaffordable for many. An estimated 4 percent of people with CF are currently insured through an exchange.

The Supreme Court's decision means that individuals with CF in health insurance exchanges will continue to have access to the premium subsidies they depend on to afford their health plans.
