The application can be submitted at any time during the period of K-award support. At the time the proposal is submitted, the applicant must hold an academic faculty-level position (such as instructor or assistant professor) at a university, health science center, or comparable institution with strong, well-established research and training programs for the area of cystic fibrosis research interest.
During the term of the award, awardees will focus their research efforts on topics directly related to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation research priorities. The goal of this program is to provide supplemental support for research costs or additional salary support for key personnel who are working on National Institutes of Health (
