Meet the Weyandt family: Joy, wife; Gavin, son; Joelle, daughter; and Jeremy, 40, who has CF

Last October, the Weyandt family opened their home to us as we set out to learn more about Jeremy's journey to getting a lung transplant in 2012.

Now 40 years old, Jeremy, a husband and father of two, received his double-lung transplant after being placed on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), a mechanical system that temporarily takes over the function of the lungs in people with acute respiratory failure.
