Pam Baker and Justin Davis will lead the 16th annual Volunteer Leadership Conference (VLC), teamMATEs: Stronger Together, from March 29-30, 2019. More than 500 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation teamMATEs from all over the country will gather in San Diego for this invitation-only event, open to everyone via livestream. Together, the Foundation and volunteers will swap success stories, hear medical and scientific updates, and share best practices.
Pam Baker, of Roswell, Ga., has been an instrumental volunteer leader with the CF Foundation. As mother to four children -- two of whom have CF -- she has served in many capacities in the fight against cystic fibrosis. Baker is currently a member of the Georgia Chapter Board and also serves on the National Volunteer Leadership Council. She has the distinction of leading the largest Great Strides National Family Team in the country and has participated as the Great Strides National Family Team Chair. And, she helped to start the passion fundraising efforts of the CF Foundation, while co-chairing the Georgia Chapter’s ShamRockin’ for a Cure event.
Justin Davis, of Pittsburgh, has been involved with the CF Foundation for the last decade. He was the first recipient of the Tomorrow’s Leader Award last year, which is presented to a young professional making a difference in the CF community. Davis first became involved at the Western Pennsylvania Chapter through Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest event and since then he has held multiple roles on that event’s committee, as well as for the Wine Opener event committee. He is now a member of the chapter’s board and advocacy team, and has emceed the Jam on Walnut event. Throughout his involvement with the CF Foundation, Davis has also been a mentor, an advocate, and a volunteer, and he is happy to now be co-chairing this year’s VLC.
