The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is now accepting applications for 2021 Impact Grants via the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's online grants management tool, SmartSimple. Please note that all applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. ET on April 5. To learn more about the program and application process, register for the informational session on February 25 at 3 p.m. ET by filling out the interest form.
The Impact Grant program provides grants of up to $10,000 per year to individuals or organizations for programs that benefit the CF community. The best ideas come from personal experience, and no one knows the ins and outs of life with CF like the CF community. This program is a chance to make your vision a reality.
Launched in 2016, the Impact Grant program reflects the Foundation's commitment to not only cure cystic fibrosis, but also to help people with CF live full lives. Impact Grants have supported a wide range of ideas that benefit people with cystic fibrosis, from voice lessons to strengthen breathing and build confidence, to online health coaching and personal training.
Successful grant applications will meet program requirements and will be selected through an external review process. Although all eligible proposals will be considered, the Foundation especially encourages applications related to innovative, online engagement programs for adolescents with CF. Programs for siblings of people with CF are also encouraged.
To be considered for funding, the program or project should meet the following requirements:
- Contribute to the mission of the CF Foundation and comply with relevant Foundation policies and guidelines, such as the Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines
- Benefit a significant number of individuals in the CF community or an underserved segment
- Include active and ongoing involvement of people with CF or family members who will benefit from the program
- Be an original idea or an ongoing program that has a measurable impact in the CF community (Program content does not need to focus directly on CF to be considered.)
- Have a description and general understanding of the necessary processes and resources needed to implement and disseminate the program
- Must not interfere with CF Foundation chapters or accredited CF care centers (e.g., parent or patient advisory councils, care centers, chapter or center-based support groups, etc.)
- Must not claim to give professional, medical, or clinical advice to people with CF
- Must not be dedicated to clinical or basic research, used solely to purchase equipment, or used for lobbying or fundraising activities
